Founder’s Story

Kisumeo Organics is led by Robin N’dungu, a 30-year-old social entrepreneur who combined his background in computer science and mathematics with a deep-rooted family history in farming to launch Kenya’s first crayfish farming franchise.

The idea was born from a desire to solve a real problem — witnessing farmers struggle to make a living. Through innovative training programs and smart technologies, Robin has empowered smallholder farmers across Kenya to improve their yields and increase income by over 30%.

"It’s not just about farming; it’s about changing lives through sustainable aquaculture."

How Kisumeo Started

Founded in 2019 in Kilifi, Kisumeo Organics began as a response to food insecurity and the climate crisis. Starting with a pilot hatchery, we introduced pathogen-free crayfish farming to improve sustainability and nutrition.

Our hatchery evolved into an AI-powered ecosystem, helping communities achieve food sovereignty while building resilience to climate stressors.
